I have a suggestion for a new product or update to your existing Selkie Rescue product. I would love to see your product recognize USB hard drives so the data could be copied to the external drive instead of over the network.

I downloaded the trial Photo Recovery. I can view basically the “root” level of the damaged drive. I cannot view any of the files any deeper than that, as I get an “access is denied” error when I attempt to view, say, “Documents and Settings”. Is it safe to assume that this is part of the crippling for the trial software, and that the purchased software will allow me free rein of the entire drive that it is able to read?

The message I’m getting indicates that “dfree is broken” on the computer being rescued, and any file transfer/copy larger than 1 MB fails due to I/O error. Is there a patch or upgrade that resolves this particular issue? Any input on this is appreciated.

: I have tried every variation, but Selkie Rescue doesn’t detect the rescue computer or, more precisely, any Workgroups. I provide workgroup and computer name, and the failed computer fails to find any. The cables are all connected properly, and all devices are working. What do I do now? PS: There is a reference in your material that if I’m using Windows Me, I have to release my computer’s current address to receive a new one from Selkie. But it isn’t clear if this is the rescue computer or the failed computer. I presume it is the failed computer. Since I cannot initiate the Start menu, I cannot run winipcfg to complete this task on the failed computer. I receive the message that this can only run in Windows.

I wish to thank you for your prompt action, professionalism and good product. I wish more product vendors were as quick to respond and as quick to react as you are. With the Selkie software I was able to quickly recover very important data. I have already recommended your product to several business peers.
